I just had to respond to some of the remarks that I have been hearing about doing research in Lincoln Co. I haven't ever tried to go through another person so I don't know what kind of problems you may have there, however, I have spent many a vacation week digging through the records in Lincoln Co. and have run into nothing but helpful people. Now I would like to post my surnames that I have been looking for and maybe I can get some more help on the difficult people I have as ancestors. RAINES, John A. b. 1809 - married Harriet BAILEY in Lincoln Co., KY. I think that Harriett's father was Ed/Edward Bailey from VA. She had a sister Mary that married Robert Raines (John's brother) I am looking for parents of John & Robert Raines and any other ancestors and also the wife of Ed Bailey and any other ancestors I can find. KIRKPATRICK,Jenkins - b. NC marreid Mariah HIATT in Lincoln Co., KY. Looking for parents of both. I think that David Kirkpatrick & Mary JENKINS from NC might possible be Jenkins parents.
