Hi Everyone, I am looking for connection to my African American Lackey and Logan families of Lincoln County. My great grandfather and his father are said to have been from Crab Orchard, Lincoln County, Kentucky. My 2nd great grandfather's name was Benjamin Lackey. He may have been White or Mulatto. He had a brother named Miller Lackey who lived in Pulaski County in 1880. My great grandfather's name was Millard Lackey, after his uncle. Millard was born 1873 in Crab Orchard. Don't know when his father, Benjamin, was born but Benjamin's brother Miller was born about 1851. Millard, my great grandfather, moved to Somerset, Pulaski County, Kentucky, married Mattie Belle Dodson, and they raised a family there in the late 1890s and early 1900s. The Logans of that same Lincoln County area were said to have been relatives to the Lackeys. The only Logan that I know of was Opheia Logan who was a nurse around this same time period in Lincoln and Pulaski counties. She married Wells Watkins, who was a popular African American Funeral Director in Somerset. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
