Governor of Virginia in the sum of fifty pounds current money to the promise whereof to be made to the said Governor & his executors we bind ourselves our heirs, executors & administrators firmly by these present sealed with our seals and dated this 20th day of September 1786. The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas there is a marriage shortly intended to be solemnized between the above bound Richard Sinnett & Mary Cates for which a licence has been filed. If therefore there be no lawful cause to obstruct the said marriage the this obligation to be now or else to remain in full force."
