Well I was reviewing some of the documents that I copied at Stanford -- where the people couldn't have been nicer-- and guess what I found --- A survey that mentions an early Montgomery----- here is the gist of it. Surveyed for John Greenlee 200 acres of Land in the County of Lincoln by virtue of a treasury warrant No 4522 lying on a Branch of Green River Beginning at a Surger Tree and white oak at A. on William Montgomery Senr. heirs land 20 poles from the beginning corner of said land &running from thence 30 W 120 poles to a White oake at the foot of the Knabs thence west 215 poles to two buckeys thence north 130 poles toa Beech thence East 115 poles to a suger tree & Hickory Corner of said Mongomery's land thence with the same S 78E 160 poles to the beginning corner.
