Hello Lincoln researchers: I have been searching for clues to the identity of David Williams who settled in Lincoln Co about 1781. The April 1781 Order Book records that a deposition be taken from him in the suit of Ann Poage against William Poage. David Williams bought land from Benjamin Logan on Hanging Fork near Hustonville. He had adult children, some of whom married in Lincoln Co. His children were Mary who never married; Rhoda Jane who married George Corn 28 Nov. 1796, Shelby Co., KY; Elizabeth married James Kerr 23 July 1790 in Lincoln Co.; Hannah married William Kerr 3 Mar 1791 in Lincoln Co; Samuel married Elizabeth McFadden in Garrard Co.; Ann married a McAlister, date and place unknown; David married Mary Ann Robertson 12 Dec 1807 in Lincoln Co.; Margaret Ann married John Reynolds probably 5 Nov 1804 Pulaski Co.; Joseph (my line) married Esther Elet Hambleton 24 Aug. 1797 in Shelby Co.KY. The identity of the children came from the will of Mary Williams who died about 1840 and whose will was subsequently probated. David Williams' will was filed in 1815 and he did not name a wife or his state of birth. Any information on this family or surname families associated with his children would be much appreciated. I will exchange information also. Eldred Melton
