I would like to hear from people who have ordered records from the court clerk in Lincoln Co KY. What sort of luck have you had getting them? How long have you had to wait? I sent in a request for a copy of a marriage bond in the spring of 1998. I did not get a reply until the end of October, and it merely said the clerk's office did not provide such copies. I was told to resend my request and make my check out to an individual who does the searches, not to the court clerk. I mailed a new check on November 2. I waited....and waited. Nothing. This week I phoned the clerk's office and was given the researcher's home number. I called her. She searched through all the unanswered mail she has on hand starting with last October, and she could not find my envelope. I sent her another check for $15 for the marriage bond. Is this typical? I do genealogy research for a living, and there are many other records I need from Lincoln Co. Is there another way to get these records? Historical society - is there one?
