It is interesting to me to see you younger people having the same type of experiences in Lincoln County I did twenty years ago. I was researching Forbes,Forbis,Faubush (as my Madison and Laurel Counties ancestors called the surname). I was given the name of a researcher who could help me by the county clerk which was okay-I always pay my way. But when I got an eagerly awaited record, the "prize" turned out to be the wrong record. It was one of a John FORD. Naturally, I assumed the researcher would correct her mistake. You guessed it.I never got the right document or a refund. I hoped then and hope now she needed the money more than I did. I have never gone into Lincoln County to work oon my family lines because of the attitudes I ran into. I, and my family spent vacations in other Kentucky Counties and spent our Yankee money there. We've had a lot of good times and met some really great people. You would think that from the dollar standpoint Lincoln County would want genealogists to come, and where is the local pride in their history? Knox County, for one, goes out of their way to make us welcome. End of lecture. You all have a pleasant Valentines's day,-
