I'm new to this list, so please bear with me. I am searching for information on Charles Moore, who is probably my gggfather. I received the following information from a friend, with whom I have since lost contact, and I have been trying my best to find out what it is and what it means. The information came originally from a look up in Lincoln Co., KY, which is where my ggfather (Solomon Moore) was born (in 1814). > Charles Moore - Henrietta Adam 1788 11792 - both born KY. It said Charles was Solomon's father. > I don't know what a "look up" is. And I haven't been able to discover what the information is or from what kind of document or record it came. My ggfather was Solomon Moore, whose father was reported to be Charles Moore, married to Henrietta Adam(s). The above information appears to bear this out, but I don't know of its authenticity or its relation to any sort of documentation or record. I would be very grateful if someone could enlighten me on this matter. I have very few direct family members to aid me since I was raised an orphan in Illinois, where Solomon Moore moved to in the 1850's. Fortunately, the internet is providing help which makes up for my orphan situation. I'm hoping that getting the connection to Charles Moore settled might put me into good records and provide a good trunk to my family tree, as short and narrow as it is so far.
