    1. RE: Lincoln Co. ELLISTON / ELLISON
    2. John Carter
    3. Mc, I always pay close attention to "Ellison" queries. My Great Grandfather was John Ellison Carter (Son of John "Jack" and Martha Ann Alford Carter). I'm always looking for where it may have come from. Both Jack and his son John E. were born in Lincoln County. John Ellison Carter was born on June 18, 1841 in Houstonville. John Ellison Carter named my Grandfather, John Tinsley Carter. He probably got Tinsley from marriage bond he signed, but I don't any more about where they went. I found this in the Mercer County Marriages: W. E. Carter (Bride) married A.J. Tinsley (Groom) on September 14, 1864 in Boyle County, Kentucky. Surity Bond by John E. (Ellison) Carter. I'm John Tinsley Carter II. So, as you can see, I'm interested in Middle Names, too!
