Hi John, I am also interested in the Ellison/ Elliston name. We have had a tough time finding our Ellistons, because of my grandfather's adoption, which we aren't sure was even legal. No one seems to have ever heard of him in this family. It seems the Lincoln County people are difficult to find. Have you found this to be true with your family? Are you in Kentucky? Also did your family ever live in Tennessee? I know some of mine did. I found them in the census as Ellisons and then as Ellistons, but in Kentucky. My g grandmother signed her mariage certificate as Elliston, so I guess this may be right. People changed the spelling so many times. Let me know if you find more on these names or on Lincoln Co.
