    1. Hutchinson or Hutchison
    2. Does anyone have a Hutchison or Hutchinson family in Lincoln Co KY in the late 1700s? I have James Hutchinson married to Elizabeth ? They were living in Bourbon Co KY in 1810, and their daughter Nancy Hutchinson married George Northcutt in Bourbon Co KY in 1802. I found a marriage between James Hutchison and Elizabeth Edwards in 1784 Lincoln Co KY, but I'm not sure if it's the same person. 1. Forge Mill
    2. Hi, I'd like to introduce myself. I am a descendant of the CRAIG family of Lincoln Co. Ky. In part of my research I have run into info that says the family of Craig's lived across Slate Creek in a little settlement called "Craigs," near a section of the county known as Forge Hill (so called because at the foot of the high hill was located the noted 'Forge Mill.' Is any familiar with this area, that could give me a little background, or related to the CRAIGs that lived here. It would have been a John CRAIG. Thanks Pat

    2. Larry Hoefling
    3. Hello All: This is just to let you know that those of you who have recently subscribed to the Lincoln County mailing list shouldn't expect to be overwhelmed with information right away. The list was only recently formed, and has not even been publicized on Rootsweb, where such things are normally listed. (You must have found the note on the Lincoln Co. page...) Anyway -- while no one wants to be overwhelmed by messages, SOME sort of traffic on a list is generally expected. I wanted to let you charter members know why there isn't much activity. Feel free to post messages regarding your genealogy or personal queries to the group...and if you have transcribed information that you'd like to share, you can post it to the list and I'll be happy to cut and paste them to the Lincoln County Archives (it's the only way our collection of Archive material will grow, given the current obligations I've incurred...) Thanks for your interest in Lincoln County -- one of the first stops in the American Frontier movement! 1. 1802 Marriage Samuel Simpson, Margaret Portman
    2. Rick Charnes
    3. I see a marriage record for Samuel Simpson and Margaret Portman, married in Lincoln County November 9, 1802. There's some speculation that my ancestor Joshua Simpson, who settled in Texas by 1850, may have been the first son to this couple. Are they are any other descendants of this marriage who could share some information? Is this the same Samuel Simpson who five years later married Betsy Fulton in Wayne County? Thanks.
