Also, if you're in Louisville, the Filson Club on 3rd Street, the National Hdqrs. of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) on 4th Street and the Louisville Library at 4th & York Streets all have complete census records for the state. In Lexington, the University of Kentucky Divison of Special Collections and archives has the complete census records. The SAR has census records also has census indexes (or tax substitutes) for 1790-1880 for 44 states and complete census informationfor 1790 to 1840 for all states. There is a cost for non-members at the SAR and Filson Club. No charge at any of the other locations. Hope this helps. Happy researching. LaVerne Ashabranner

2. Margy and other interested parties, Yes, there may be confusion in the minds of some between the names Ball and Baugh. I know that until I became an adult and started looking at the records that I thought my grandmother's name was Ball instead of Baugh. For those who have requested it, I am including here a link to my web site. At this site you will find genealogy pages on the descendants of Alfred Baugh, William Harlan Vanhook, and Zadock Wheat, all allied or related lines. If the link doesn't work for you, let me know and I'll try typing the URL without an entry error. Click here: Family Tree Maker's Genealogy Site: User Home... Albert J. 1. Kentucky records
2. Greetings, I am searching the BAUGH line in Kentucky. My g-grandfather, ALFRED BAUGH, lived and died in Highland, Lincoln Co. b1843 d1924. My gg-grandfather, JOHN BAUGH, born circa 1816, possibly in Pulaski Co., was on the census in Lincoln Co. in 1850. Does anyone know of any online census availability for Lincoln County Census index after 1850? Does anyone know of the existence of Lincoln County death records before the state started keeping them about 1911? Where could such records be found? In addition to the BAUGHS, I am researching the VANHOOKS in Lincoln, Pulaski, Rockcastle, and Garrard Co. I have a web site with pages for both names. If anyone is researching these names in these areas, they might be interested. Thanks. Jack

2. Larry Hoefling
3. Jim: Francis Dishon married Clary Adams in Lincoln County, with a license dated 2-11-1832. Other Dishon marriages in that era included Luke Dishon, who married Louisa Plummer (9-7-1831) and Lewis Dishon, who married America Adams (1-8-1844). In the marriage bond of John Dyhouse to marry Holland Adams, Betsey Adams is listed as the mother (giving consent for her daughter, Holland) and Francis Deshon is listed as surety November 18, 1835. (Indicating to me that the husband of Betsey Adams died previous to 1835. In 1844: Consent of Francis Deshon, stating that America Adams is an orphan under the age of 21 years, and that he has acted as her guardian. January 8, 1844. Note: America Adams married Lewis Deshon on January 8, 1844. Jim, one source lists the name as Deshon, while the other references the same names as Dishon, so the handwriting must have been somewhat ambiguous - but they're the same folks. 3. Hey all, new to this list. I am wondering if anyone knows this man: GALE or GALEN E. or GALIN WESLEY, I have seen it written all three ways in records. I believe he was born ~1859 in Casey County KY, d.?5/30/1882. I was told he lived by Rock Lick Creek/Mintonville, KY, which I learned from a kind man named JASON HASTE, before he passed on. I know he is buried in an almost illegible gravestone in Watson's Chapel Cemetery. His father was GRINARD 'GRINNER' JOHN MILTON WESLEY (B. 1833 Casey County, KY, d. ???) 1) GRINNER JOHN married a MARY GADDIS, but I don't think this was GALE's mom. I was told GALE's mom was named SARAH ?, maybe GALE was born illegitamate?? 2) I believe GALE married a JANIE BARBER, but I think there have been others, married or not. I am looking for the mother of one of his progeny named MILTON JOHN WESLEY (b. 3/16/1877 Pulaski County, d. 6/14/1940 in Cincinnati, OH). MILTON JOHN married MARY ANN SWEET (b. 6/21/1882 in Pulaski County, d. 3/18/1967, Cincinnati, OH Hamilton County). Milton and Mary Ann married on March 30, 1898. I have info on other kids of GALE, but I really want to know which woman was the mother of MILTON JOHN WESLEY. And who was really the mother of GALE WESLEY? I haven't found conclusive evidence for either of these questions. Other info I am interested in learning is what kind of person was GALEN/GALE WESLEY? Was he a heavy drinker? Why did he burn my g grandpa's hands in a fire when MILTON JOHN was young? I have heard stories of MILTON and his cousin OTT RANDOLPH riding their horses into Sardis Church because Mary Ann Sweet and her sister Margaret were attending a service in the church and the 2 men wanted to make an impression. These are the things I would like to know about GALEN and his father GRINNER JOHN WESLEY. Also does anyone have any photographs of GALEN and of his father/mother etc.? I have only one picture of MILTON JOHN WESLEY and you can't see his face on account of a hat, but you can see his hands crippled up. Does anyone have any pictures of MILTON JOHN? Milton John and Mary Ann Sweet are my g grandpa and ma. I have family info from their lineage to share if anyone is interested. Thanks deb wesley Durham, NC rosewat@ibm.net
