    1. LOOKUPS PLEASE ? LINCOLN CO Forbes/Henderson
    2. Hi... I am desperately searching for more info on James Henderson and Letitia Forbes who were married on February 23, 1831 in Lincoln Co., KY. They moved to Arkansas and later settled in Lavaca Co., Texas where they died. There was a Jonathan Forbes and Montgomery Forbes in 1810 Lincoln Co., KY Census. One of them could have been Letitia's father. Can anyone out there look up for either Jonathan or Montgomery's will or whatever information may be helpful? James and Letitia's children were Sarah, Mary Ann (my ancestor), Martha, Henry, Stephen, Lucy Emeline, Lucretia, James Jr., and Susan. Thanks! Jason Coffman

    3. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% SECOND KENTUCKY AFFECTIONATELY NICKNAMED THEM THEIR 'BULL PUPS' %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% "No gun is so well suited in all respects to the wants of our cavalry, as these little guns," said Confederate General Basil Duke of the mountain howitzers he utiliized, while riding with General John Hunt Morgan's raids in the western theater. These little cannons were light enough to be pulled rapidly on raids with just one horse, or pushed for long distances on the battlefield by just a few soldiiers. An added advantage, said Duke, was that they produced "a great deal more noise than one would expect from their size and appearance." The men with Duke's Second Kentucky Cavalry were quite fond of their two little guns, and affectionately nicknamed them their "bull pups." %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% DEO VINDICE!

    1. QUIGLEY in KY
    2. Hi all !!! I am new to this list. My family has been traced to KY for a short time and maybe they left a few behind!!!! I am researching the QUIGLEY surname. I have gone back as far as John Maywood QUIGLEY b. 1775 VA m. Mary PATTERSON b. 1777 VA. They were married in Berkeley Co. VA in 1796 by a minister John Boyd. They had six children.... The first two: John b. 1800 and William b. 1801 were born somewhere in KY. Then 4 children were born in VA/WVA. Andrew in 1803, Jane in 1803, hannah in 1805 and Anna Lisa in 1807. The family ended up in the Liberty District of Marshall Co. WVA and the area near there. One clue I found was that some Quigleys moved from Berkeley Co. to KY around that time because of tax problems. I can't tie them to my branch yet - no proof. If I could find a record of them in KY, maybe the parents of John Maywood Q. will be included there somewhere. In later years he lived with his son William in WVA. I am really at a brick wall and would appreciate any and all help anyone can give!! I would be glad to share any info I have on this line. I have much info up to 1900's. Can post to list or to me at Sandreamer@aol.com. HELP ME ! ! ! ! ! Thanks, Sandy Other surnames in my Quigley family tree: Baker, Calvert, Chambers, Church, Darr, Ethridge, Fortney, Gorby, Hart, Hartlib, Holmes, James, Jeffers, Jones, King, Kirby, Kisner, Mathews, Mcmasters, Mickey, Miller, Murphy, Reid, Rentshler, Rhoades, Rhodes, Rickus, Riggs, Showalter, Sine, Stimmel, Tynel, Wendt, Welling, Whipkey, Williams, Woods - most all in WVA / VA

    2. Today is Thanksgiving. I always write my Christmas cards on Thanksgiving Day. How's that for efficiency? So, am writing in the hope that someone on this list lives in Stanford KY. My friend Eudelle Elliott used to help out at the library there when she was younger. Within the past year she moved to a retirement home in Lexington. When I got ready to address her card, I found that I had lost her new address. I know I wrote it down, but where? If anyone happens to know Eudelle and can put us in touch, I promise to engrave the new address where it will not get lost. Thank you so very much. Hazel

    2. Hi, Thought I would try again on this one. Is there anyone out there that knows anything about the ELLISTON family in Lincoln Co. Ky.? Albert Elliston, b. abt 1863 was my g grandfather. He and my g grandmother, MILLY AGNES VAUGHN/VONN divorced and she remarried in 1887. We know absolutely nothing about him after their marriage in 1880. The name is sometimes spelled without the "t"...Ellison. Would anyone have access to any 1890 Ky. tax list or records or the 1900 census in Kentucky? Anything to help us find the direction he went after their divorce. He is in the 1880 census. Thank you for your time and any help you may have to give. Good Luck to All, Mc
