Hi: The History of Lewis Co. by Ragan mentions Cabin Creek. "It used to be called Cabin Creek, but Mr. John G. Fee and his followers made an effort to have the name changed to Glenville, but were unsuccessful. The people of the vicinity persisted in calling it "Feetown" in derision. Strangers, in passing up and down the creek, would many of them get the idea that there were two places instead of one. They would get confused as to its location and distance away very naturally, but for quite a number of years this condition of affairs must be explained to all strangers when passing through. But in 1886 Mr. Thos. J. Tully, who was postmaster at Creek, succeeded in getting the name changed from Cabin Creek to Cottageville, and by the latter name it it is now quite well known throughout the country. Jean Hardyman
