A interesting not about the Alexander SMITH that appeared in the 1850 census is that he had a daughter , Amanda SMITH that married a George STRICKLETT in 1849. George and Amanda both died in 1852 of Typhoid fever leaving two small sons, John and Charles STRICKLETT. Alexander SMITH raised these two boys.
