Hello all you genealogy buffs in Lewis County, Kentucky, Searching for information on the descendants of James MEENACH, who migrated to Mason Co., KY with seven sons and a daughter about 1794-95. Children: Adam, James H., William, Alexander, John, 2 unknown males and 1 unknown female. Spouse unknown. Six of these brothers served in the War of 1812. Alexander was born about 1781 in PA and died 12 Aug 1879 in Saltlick, Lewis County. Alexander shows up on the tax lists several times: 1821 Alexander paid taxes on ten acres in Lewis Co., Cabin Creek Water Course 1825 Same as above 1833 Alexander paid taxes on fifty acres [land grant] Lewis Co., Cabin Creek 1838 Same as above 1839 No land tax, just animals Alexander shows up in the 1820 Census in Lewis Co. with six children and no spouse. On 10 Apr 1820, he married Elizabeth Graham. She died during or before 1829. They had four known children; James, Mordica, Unknown Male, and Polly. Alexander then married Elizabeth West on 25 Dec 1829. They had eight known children; Unknown Male, Thomas, Andrew, Hannah, Nancy R., Alexander, Jr., Henry W., and Elizabeth. I'm hoping someone out there has some more information for me. One other thing we don't know is where any of the original seven children were buried.
