Bev & others, The 1795 Census as you may know is not a true census but a compilation made from tax records for KY. The copy I have only contains Shelton to Short, but it was provided by TLC Genealology about 1991. Now the Mason Co. Museum forwarded me copy pages from a book called Kentucky Pioneers and Their Descendants which was compliled by Ila Earle Fowler for the Kentucky Society, Daughters of Colonial Wars. In it they copied the section called Mason County Taxpayers, 1793, they quote that this information was gathered from Mitchell Hall, in his History of Johnson County (apart of old Mason) in it Vol I, gage 57 gives the taxpayers in 1793 within the District of Wm. Lamb No. 2, Commissioner in the County of Mason. On it their is no May's but a James McKay and a Timothy Mayhall. This list also has the following: Shepherd, George Shepherd, John Jr. Shepherd, John, Sr. Shepherd John W. Shepherd, Solomon Shepherd, William Hope this helps anyone, Cheers, Mark Shepherd Beverly Aytes-Bowhall wrote: > Mark, > > Where did you get a copy of 1795 KY census??
