Dr Talley,Barbara Applegate Richards gave me a copy of a recent Lewis Co map. I'm rereading parts of Rev Ragan's book with it on the same desk. And finding so many of the places mentioned by Ragan are in the northern 1\3 of the county. The location of CHARTERS seems a main crossroad.Could it have been ,once,Chartier's? Chartier's Creek runs south to Washington,Pa from 5 miles west of Pittsburg. Peter CHARTIERS once lived with the Shawnee in the Portsmouth ,Oh [Ky] area. I note all the "salt licks" named in locations in Lewis Co. I note a "PRIVATE FOREST" DOWN Kinney almost to ROWAN CO. Who owns it? I'm enjoying all the names of RUNS and HOLLOWS.
