Hi, We found one man John Stevenson/Stephenson who married one of the women from Mason Co., Alice/Alcy Morrison and I am pretty sure they are related to our side, but just haven't been able to find out what the connection is. I found Hugh, Francis, Thomas, John, Richard, Aaron, Nathan all in Mason Co. in the 1795-1800 tax records and there are so many things that say they knew one another. I know that Thomas, Nathan, John and Aaron are names of my ggrandfathers children. Thomas Stevenson who married Mary Evans from Ba. Co., MD is who I believe my ggrandfather named his first son. Francis is from Shenandoah/Virgina and these families travelled back and forth. Thomas, Nathan and Richard were sons of Edward and Phoebe Stevenson, Edward was son of Richard King Stevenson and he was son of Edward and Mary Stevenson of Ba. Co., MD. There were two Johns that I cannot find where they went in this family and feel one of them must be mine. I know this sounds like grasping at straws, but I am really wanting documentation and it hasn't reared its head yet. I know that at least 3 of them came by flatboat to Limestone and only Richard moved away to Greenup Co. Sorry to repeat if this is information that we have already covered, but I have had a lot going on here. Don't know if I told you but my husband died a year ago, 4 Jul 2000, age 86. I have been doing a lot of things, got a job, went to Texas twice to visit two different groups of family and friends, went to Tulsa for wedding of my cousins grandson (3rd cousin) and doing a lot of visiting with my son who lives clear across town. I am trying to get my house cleaned out to sell it. I need to have a garage sale, auction/estate sale or something. At age 70 if you have stuff thats been packed for over 5 years and haven't missed or needed it, its time to get rid of it. LOL So thats what I plan to do. Less for the kids to have to worry about. I want a ranch style house with no stairs. I hate having to go downstairs to do laundry, upstairs to get the laundry to take down.Tri-levels are the devil to live in. Well, I have bent your ear long enough. Take care and let me know if this is not the Stevenson in the book. Were there also any of the others ? Rhodes, Stoker, Strode, Prather, Haines, Gault, Kennard, Wells, Hitt ? I have found a 3rdcousin from the Rhodes family. Prudence Stevenson married William Rhodes, brother to Snowden Rhodes, I got e-mail from Prudence's ggranddaughter. Prudence was my ggrandfathers sister. I really will quit this time.
