    3. Dear Subscribers to the Lewis and Greenup Counties, Kentucky Mailing List, This is the sixth and final message (in this series) regarding the Union Army's Twenty-second Regiment of Kentucky Volunteer Infantry, which was composed of a good number of men of Greenup and Lewis Counties. In summary, the two campaigns that "our" Regiment paricipated in were the Cumberland Gap and the Vicksburg Campaigns. Both of those campaigns had victorious outcomes for the Cause of the Union. Three additional sources of information regarding the Regimental History of the Twenty-second are: 1. Adjutant General's Report for Kentucky 2. Thomas Speed's ~Union Regiments of Kentucky~ 3. The Online Roster of the Twenty-second With that, I will conclude with an invitation for anyone who is descended from soldiers of the Twenty-second Kentucky to email me (in addition to those who have already introduced themselves to me), so that we can continue to keep the memory of the deeds of the Twenty-second alive. I hope that this series of postings has been interesting and informative to the List Members and I wish success to each of you, as you conduct your family history research. Sincerely, Randal W. Cooper Future Member of SUVCW (Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War), Kentucky Department (see their website)
