    2. Dear Roxann, I've thought, too, that the baby may have been named after a friend or a prominent neighbor and it sounds like William C. Plummer could have been the one. William Coffrin, who was the head of this Coffrin clan, lived in Vanceburg, but I'm not sure where in Lewis County his children lived as adults. I haven't found evidence of any family relationship Constantine Coffrin & his wife Rachael Aills had with the Plummers. Thank you for writing! I appreciate your input. Plummer was very active in Canaan church near Burtonville for many years- he led the Sunday school class. William C. Plummer died in 1845. If this is where the Coffrins were from, might they have just named the child for a neighbor? Most of the Plummers in Lewis county descended from Isaac and Sarah (?) Plummer who died around 1805 in Fleming county.
