Carol - There may not be a direct relationship between the families, but I know that William C. Plummer was very active in Canaan church near Burtonville for many years- he led the Sunday school class. William C. Plummer died in 1845. If this is where the Coffrins were from, might they have just named the child for a neighbor? Most of the Plummers in Lewis county descended from Isaac and Sarah (?)
