Dear Lewis County, Kentucky Researchers, Upon further reflection, it seems likely that there were at least two Albert J. COXes in Eastern Kentucky, since the Albert J. COX who was listed in the 1860 Census of Mason County, Kentucky was probably not the same person as the Albert J. COX who married Virginia J. HARRISON in 1869 in Lewis County, Kentucky. Therefore, the Albert J. COX who served in the Third Regiment of Kentucky Volunteer Infantry, enlisting in 1861, was more likely the 1860 Maysville resident. This is because Virginia J. HARRISON's husband was born October 12, 1846, making him only thirteen years old at the time the 1860 Census was taken. Albert J. COX's service in the Sixtieth Ohio, as well as more information on said Regiment, can be found on the following website: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~volker/60thOhio.html Sincerely, Randal W. Cooper P.S. Three more COX enlistees might have been related to Albert COX. They were Harrison, George and Willis COX, who enlisted in Company "G" of the Sixtieth Ohio, at Gallipolis, in 1862. Please see the aforementioned website.
