    3. Dear Subscribers to the Lewis County, Kentucky Mailing List, Including Sue Sisk, The widow of Albert J. COX, Virginia J., did receive a Widow's Pension, in 1915. The Application Number was 1,044,741 and the Certificate Number was 792,316. Albert J. COX applied for an Invalid Pension in Kentucky, in 1884. The Application Number was 513,992 and the Certificate Number was 530,536. The Pension was derived from his service in Company "F" of the Sixtieth Regiment of Ohio Volunteer Infantry. The soldier enlisted in said regiment on March 16 or March 22, 1864. There was also an Albert J. COX who served in Company "A" of the Third Regiment of Kentucky Volunteer Infantry, having enlisted in Kentucky on September 19, 1861. This soldier went on to serve in Company "E" of the Fifteenth Veteran Reserve Corps. It is possible that the two Albert J. COXes (Kentucky and Ohio Regiments) were the same person. Albert J. COX was enumerated in the 1860 Census of Maysville, Mason County, Kentucky, page 186. An Albert J. COX appeared in the 1870 Census of Vanceburg, Lewis County, Kentucky, page 532. He was listed in the 1890 Special Census of Union Veterans, page 082, still in Vanceburg. Albert J. COX was enumerated in the 1910 Census of Vanceburg, Lewis County, Kentucky, visitation 0122, E.D. 0111. In 1910, he was said to be 63 years old, born in Ohio. The remaining members of the household were born in Kentucky. His wife Virginia J. was 61. Their son John was 32 and daughter Catharine was 19. Randal W. Cooper

    3. Randal, Thank you so much for all this info on Albert Cox, he did have a brother refered to as W.J.Cox, so I will be looking for a William J. or Willis J. As their father`s name was William Cox married Nancy Ann [Owens]/Cox/Bennington They are on the 1850 Census for Adams Co.,OH listed as Bennington`s (not sure if Samuel Bennington adopted Albert and W.J. or not) Oddly, W.J.Cox is said to look like M.J.Cox on the 1850 Census, and listed as FEMALE. At the Family Search-LDS site he is listed as W.J.Cox-MALE Get`s real confusing, not sure which direction to go in looking for him! Other siblings of Albert Cox are Freelove, Matilda, and Catherine (which is said to be Catherine [Roderick]Creamer). Nancy Ann Owens is from Kentucky and I`ve had no luck finding her parents or siblings. The Widow`s Pension and Invalid App. are at Ancestry.com, would appreciate if anyone could please send me copies of them. I sure would like to hear from anyone that connects to these Cox in any sort of way!!! Thanks again Randal you`ve been Super!!!
