This message is for Dee Danner who sent in a query in May. I just found your Benjamin Maddox by accident in Coles County, Illinois, 1850 census. Benjamin, 42, b. TN (is that right?) Nancy, 42, b. KY Fanny, 29, b. KY Wm. H., 27, b. KY Mary E., 24, b. OH Melinda E., 15, b. OH Amanda E., 14, b. OH Sarah C., 12, b. OH Benjamin F., 10, b. OH John H., 8, b. OH Barbary O'Neil, 90, b. KY You said in your query that Benjamin was the son of William Maddox. Where did you get this information? Also, where in Ohio were there? I believe your William Maddox b.c. 1780 was the brother of John Maddox b.c. 1780 (according to 1810 Lewis Co., census) and died 1824 in Lewis Co. I believe, but this is just a hunch right now, that your Wm. and my John were the sons of John Maddox who served at Herod's settlement (fort) in 1780. Soon after John received a warrant for Rev. War. service for land in Ky. but I do not know where yet. I am guessing present-day Lewis Co. Katheryn Maddox Haddad
