1870 census in Lewis County shows a David D. Flinders, 31, farm laborer, born in Ohio. He is "living with" a Maria Flinders, 28, keeping house, born in Kentucky. Is there anyone who is doing research on this gentleman? Maria Flinders marries in 1877 a James W. Patton. Maria's maiden name was Anna Mariah Gray, daughter of Robert K Gray, Sr. and Louesa Irvin. She was born in 1841 in Vanceburg. David D Flinders was living with John H. Flinders in 1860 in Lewis County. He served in the 22 Kentucky Inf. during the Civil War, but I can find no record of a marriage to Maria or a divorce. David D. Flinders did not died, but married a lady by the name of Permalia, last name unknown. They had a son named Percy D. Flinders, who in the 1880 census in one year old. Maria and David had no children.
