    3. Ray Jennings, The names you are researching caught my interest mainly because of two names you listed. My time period is different, but since the names and locale are the same, there is always the possibility that they could be from the same family; diffrerent generation. I have a John Davis b ca 1871 in Lewis or Mason County and who had two children Katherine Belle (Katie) born 1892 and Nannie, born 1894. My John Davis died sometime between 1893-1897. His daughters were also in Lewis & Mason Co. His wife was Ada Belle Figgins (Fhagans.) Does any of this match with info you have? Joy Coyan

    1. [KYLEWIS-L] Reminder: Good Entry Tips!
    2. Betty Lou Riley
    3. Hi Everyone, I just wanted to take a moment, to remind everyone of the tips for good discussion list entries. Please remember to use a well defined, meaningful, subject line, *name, state and date*, helps greatly! If you have a subject, that is a little off subject, please make a note, in the subject line. Just remember that some of our members get hundreds of messages a day, the ones with vague subject lines, are prime candidates for deletion without reading. If you're replying to a message, but changing the subject of conversation, change the subject line to match. If you subscribe in Digest mode, don't just leave "Digest" as the subject but make sure that your subject line matches the content of your message. Taking a few extra seconds to make sure your subject line is an effective one, makes it more likely you'll find the connection you're after. Pioneer stories and family stories, are fine, they go hand in hand with the facts of genealogy. You never know when they might connect to someone family!! Don't forget to watch the *TO* line, so you know where your reply is going, If it says *KYLewis-L*, its going to be public to the list. If it says someones *name*, its going private to them. If you want it *private* click thier e-mail address. Use *reply to all*, to get it to both places. Please remember, to just leave enough of the previous message to identify it, not the entire message. The full message just adds to the overload at roots and also to everyones mailboxes. Digest replies can be a real overload. Hope this will help all of us, in our busy days!! Betty Lou Riley List Owner for: OHAdams-L, KYGreenu-L, KYLewis-L, Crockett-L, McGovney-L, and RileyRelics-L. 3. Hi all; I am trying to find info on Thomas Davis who had at least two children born in Mason Co. Ky. John Davis b. abt 1793 and Katy Davis. John married Barbara Wickerham b. 1793 Washington Co. Pa. d. 1878 Locust Grove, Adams Co. Ohio. As far as can tell first child was Mary b. 1815 Adams Co. Ohio. Any info on the Davis line would be greatly appreciated. Other families who married into the Davis at Adams Co. were Wickerham, Platter, McCague and Ralston that I have little info on. Numerous families were married int Platter and Wickerham that were also in Mason Co. Ky at same time as Thomas Davis. Any info is greatly appreciated. I use family Tree Maker 5.0 and will gladly share what info I have on these lines and a few others in Adams Co. Thanks Ray [email protected]
