JUST POSTING THE OBITUARY ON PAUL DAVID YANCEY FROM DAYTON (OH) DAILY NEWS 1/13/07. On January 5, 2007, Paul David Yancey, Sr., 59, passed into eternal rest at his home in Crosby, TX. He was born March 6, 1947 in Seca, KY. Paul served on the USS Yancey and is a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War (1964-1968). He is husband to Bonnie Belle Yancey, whom he married on January 23, 1969 in Spring Valley, OH. In addition to his beloved wife of 37 years, Paul is survived by his children, daughter Jacqueline Marie Whitt; son Paul David Yancey, Jr. and wife Tisha; and daughter Jennifer Pauline Cessna and husband Christopher. He is also survived by his very special grandchildren, Matthew, Sherri, Christopher, Shawn, Rachel, Aimee, Nicholas, Grant, Gracie and Olivia; and his siblings whom he loved very much; Gary, Linda, Debbie, Donny, Kay, Pam and Leroy and their parents. As a long-haul truck driver, Paul spent many of his days on the road, driving into beautiful horizons across the United States, however he lived for the days he would spend at home with his family and! his golf clubs. He is a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Those who know and love him will always remember his tireless patience, extreme generosity, timely sense of humor and passionate views on the world. Most of all, he will be remembered for the loving sacrifices he has made for those he loved. He will live forever in our hearts. It was Paul's wish to donate his body for scientific study in hope of finding cures and saving lives - an extension of his selflessness and sacrifice. A private memorial gathering for friends and family will be held at the home of his daughter Jennifer in Crosby, Texas on January 13, 2007 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
