The reference is taken from the book "A History of Ozark County 1841-1991", which states that they came to Ozark County from GA in 1859 or 1860. My husbands grandmother was Amanda Roberts and her mother was Sintha. We know they were at Tecumseh first, then after Sintha's husband was killed, they moved to the area near where we live now, but again she does not appear on the 1870 census. I need to go to the courthouse and see if I can track down if she might have remarried. But I can't find out even where the boys went although we know who the girls married. It's been a hard case to crack so to speak. But I do thank you for trying to help me, several people in the area have been trying to find out something about this family also, they are really elusive.
