She was born July 30, 1920 in Whitesburg, (Letcher County), Kentucky, to George Lee and Maude (Dalton) Madden. She was a member of Charles Street First Church of God. God looked around the garden and found an empty space. He looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest. He saw the roads were getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb. So He closed your weary eyelids and whispered peace be thine. She was preceded in death by her beloved children, John Lee, Benny, Donald Tester and Mary Jo (Tester) Lawson.; sisters, Jean Madden and Josie (Madden) Combs and brothers, Silas, Weldon, John "H", Ralph and Ruphus Madden and great-great granddaughter S! amantha Lawson.
