I think there was native American lineage to some extent on both sides of the family. James was born in 1858. Martha was born in 1855. Martha's mother was Polly Wooten. She was a deaf mute and had Sarah, Daniel and Martha. I don't think she was ever married and lived with James and Martha before her death. Martha and James had 11 children as far as I know. Georgia (1883), Mary (1884), Buddy (1886), Mallie (1889), Orbitt (1890), Daniel (1892), John (born 12/26/1893 - died 10/1978), Ambrose (1896), Willow (1898), Nelson (born 5/2/1899 - died 12/28/1980), Embory or Emory (1903). Nelson was my Grandfather. He married Dicey Francis. They had eleven children and lived in Leslie County, Dickenson County Virginia and eventually settled in Letcher County. I have more records, but haven't had a chance to get them all together. However, I will do that soon and will be happy to send them to you as I can find th! em.
