This Jacob Harris, Married: Jane/Jonea Canaday/Kannaday, (Jane Kannaday, listed on Marraige Certificate), Married: Aug. 28, 1827, in Wilkes Co. NC, in which Jacob Harris & Meredith PHILIPS, paid the Govenor (NC) 500 pounds current money. QUESTIONS??? Why was Jacob Harris in this Area??? Who was he living with??? Was he apart of the Harris Families in this NC Area??? How was Meredith Philips connected to: Jane Kannaday???? Jane Kannaday was Born: ca.1805 NC?? Was she a Daughter of: Meredith Philips??? Ky., Census there is a Son Listed: William Harris, 21yrs old, BORN: KENTUCKY, Occupation: Laborer, (B.ca1848KY), who we have believed to be William Harris who Married: Mary "Polly" Ann Vance, D/O John Wesley Vance & Martha Patsy Hall/Vance, and they resided in the KNOTT COUNTY, KY., area, where WILLIAM "BILL" HARRIS, owned, and farmed lands situated on Beaver Creek, untill his Death before: March 1881 Knott Co./Floyd Co. KY?? QUESTION: Was William "Bill" Harris the William Harris listed in Jacob & Jane Harris Home in the "1860" Floyd Co. Ky Census??? Also, this William Harris was supposidly a VERY LARGE LAND HOLDER in KNOTT COUNTY, KY., according to some family stories and beliefs, but when checking out Deeds, which I am aware of could be easily destroyed or have been moved out of the books in the court houses. Is this a Fact or is it Fiction?? William "Bill" Harris & Mary "Polly" Ann Vance/Harris, had several Children, prior to his short lived life, with one Son being: John Harris, B.Aug. 4, 1862 Knott/Floyd Co. KY; D.Aug. 4, 1934 Kite, Ky/Knott Co. KY, Mar: Martha Ellen Thomas, B.1871, D.aft Nov. 1913 Kite,KY/Knott Co. KY... Some of the Descendents of all the above lines are found in: West Virginia, Ohio, Ky/VA. Portsmouth, Ohio: Rachel Arminta Harris, B.1830 Letcher Co. KY, Died: 1941 Portsmouth, OHIO, Mar: Reubin D.
