I recently discovered him in Knott County in the 1900 census. He was recently married to Catherine and they were living with the Leslie Johnson family. In his death certificate it lists his parents as Jim Sarver and Nannie England - no luck with either yet. I have a suspicion based on several factors that Jim Sarver is actually James E. Sarver of Whitesburg, Letcher County, an Attorney who was a single man around the time of Ezekiel's birth and that Ezekiel is an illegitimate child given up or his mother died early. In the 1889 tax record for Knott County - Leslie Johnson has two boys living with him aged 6-20 - one of these could be Ezekiel - perhaps they took him in or adopted him. Ezekiel also named his first born son Leslie. I am looking for any information that might help or lead me in the right direction.
