He was born April 18, 1925, in Jenkins, [Letcher County]Kentucky, to Charles and Arlene (Moore) Stewart. He served our great country during World War II as a Technical Sergeant and worked as a heavy equipment operator in the Lucina Islands. Johnce retired through the Ohio Operating Engineers as a heavy equipment operator. On May 21, 1949, he married Elva Lee Smith and together they had one son, Johnce Wayne Stewart. Johnce and Elva Lee lived most of their lives in Mt. Healthy, Ohio until 2000, then moving to Sharps Chapel, Tennessee where they resided for almost 4 years on Norris Lake. They most recently returned home to Ohio to begin farming with their family. Johnce and Elva Lee loved to travel and fish. Johnce enjoyed talking on his CB radio as often as he could. He was a member of the College Hill Lodge #641 F.&A.M. Johnce is survived by his wife of 55 years, Elva Lee Stewart of Hamilton; his son, Johnce (Betty) Stewart of Fairfield; his brother, Jack (Frances) Stewart of Hamilton; his sister, Jeanie Johnson of California; two granddaughters, Lynn (Eric) Boeppler and Johnce Lee Metz, both of Fairfield and seven great-grandchildren; Austin Cline, Tyler Boeppler, Dakota Boeppler, Savannah Boeppler, Deston Boeppler, Dylan Metz and Derek Metz, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and tons of wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul, Silas and Leon Stewart of Michigan and sister, Orbena Young of Kentucky. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2004, at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Road, Fairfield, with Dave Hargrave officiating. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2004, at the funeral home.
