She married George M. Adams, on 18 July 1900. She was preceded in death by her husband, George M. Adams, in June 1936, and her son, Joe Fairchild Adams, in Jan 1871. Surviving are 03 daughters, Elsie Niece, Chesney Combs, and Corinne Clay; 01 son, Hugh Adams. She was Tax Commisioner of Letcher County for 07 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She is buried in the Sandlick Cemetery, Whitesburg, Kentucky.

Don't know much, she was born Feb 1860 in Letcher Co KY, Andy 1854, his parents were William and Frances Mullins Sturgill. They married in 1878 prob Letcher Co KY. Her 2nd husband was Sam Niece. Please share what you find out. I have run into some trouble with a few of the children's lines (Burdine and Larkin, specifically) and wonder if anyone on the message board can help me sort things out. My friend's Collins connection comes through Thomas, his son Briant, grandson Carter, gr-grandson Samuel H., gr-gr-granddaughter Bertha, who married James Monroe White in Rowan Co., Kentucky, in 1909. Bertha and James were my friend's mother's parents. I also wonder if anyone can tell me if the James (as it appears, anyway) Collins listed in the 1840 census for Perry Co., Kentucky, is a sibling to Thomas.
