    2. The 1955 Death Certs are now available on microfilm at the Ky Historical Society in Frankfort, KY. I go about once a month if you need one from 1911 to 1955. Email me privately. Lynda Combs Gipson In a message dated 2/1/2006 4:35:49 PM Eastern Standard Time, bcaudill@mpinet.net writes: Paul, At 09:39 PM 1/22/2006, you wrote: >I thnk I have found my half-brother's death in Letcher Co...... >He died in 1931 at age 27.... >I found him in the KY. Vitals site and will I have to get the death >certificate from Letcher Co, or from Frankfort, KY?? You can order a 'certified' copy of the death certificate from Frankfort for $6. An order form can be downloaded at http://chfs.ky.gov/dph/vital/deathcert.htm (click on the "Download Death Certificate Application" link on the righthand side). However, since the death took place before 1955, you can get a third party individual to make a photocopy of it from microfilm for you. Go to http://www.kygenweb.net/vitals/index.html and scroll down about half-way to "Did you find a death certificate between 1911-1954 you would like a copy of?" and there is a list of people who will make copies for you from $1 to $3 each. You will need to give them the information you found at the Vital Records site. The only person I've used before is Chester Ward, but I'm sure any of them will do fine. Brian K. Caudill

    2. Knott Historical Society
    3. Joy, Brenda Daniels recently uploaded several of the Knott Historical Society's databases containing information the Mullins and Pridemore's. Check out the following, Secular Obituary Index, Old Regular and Primitive Baptist Index, Cemeteries Index, Bibliographies Page. Brenda says she hasn't uploaded anything to the subbuttons, and that visitors should only click on the main buttons at this time. Several new items she is presently uploading can be found on the Church History page. Gather what you can from those records. If you can't find what you need there, contact me at the Historical Society, as we are related on the Pridemore and Mullins lines, and I'll be glad to help you. Have you corresponded with Minnie McFall? She has been working on the Honeycutt lines, and she may be able to help you in that direction if you are interested.
