She died in the early '60's and I have attempted to get a copy of her death certificate, but was sent one for another person of the same name. If she is buried in the same cemetary as 'Uncle' John Lucas, perhaps a stone marker would indicate her birthdate and year of death. Was there a 1900 US federal or state census? I think she was born in Letcher County in about 1888 and had a younger sister named or nicknamed Betty. If there is any other info that maybe useful in your research, please ask me. In your earlier reply, you indicated a book about Letcher Co that might contain useful information?

Good evening, I have a photo taken a day or so after April 28, 1912. Eight men, some with guns drawn, posed in what was the staging area for the hunt for John ALLISON who killed Jim Wright on Beefhide Creek, KY. Can anyone tell me anything about any of the characters? The leader of the posse was N. B. ASH who was the chief of police in Jenkins. His photo, along with the 1913 Jenkins Police Department is on the Jenkins Police Website.
