Surnames: Hunsaker, Hunsucker, Sturgill, Stidham Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/FBB.2ACE/998.1.1 Message Board Post: Benjamin Franklin Hunsaker (one branch went by Hunsaker instead of Hunsucker) was born about 1879 the son of James Clayton Hunsaker (1859-1891) and Ruth Sturgill (b. 1862). His parents were married Oct 25, 1877 in Wise Co VA where his father was born. His grandparents were Archibald and Didamy Baker Hunsucker (note spelling change), I have never been able to identify Ruth Sturgill's parents. Benjamin Franklin Hunsaker married Caroline Sturgill b. abt 1873 on Dec 23 1897 in Wise Co VA. She was the daughter of James Sturgill (1849-1932) and Catherine Stidham (1950-1929). I can provide far more information on Benjamin and Caroline's ancestors (have a Hunsucker line and 3 Sturgill lines) but cannot answer the original query about their deaths.

Dec. 1878 in VA and was the s/o James Clayborn "J. C." HUNSUCKER and wife, Rutha STURGILL, both from Wise Co., VA. They appear on the 1880 Wise Co. and on the 1900 Wise Co., VA Fed. Census records. Caroline STURGILL, b. 1873 in Wise Co., VA was married on 12-23-1897 in Wise Co., VA. Her parents were; James STURGILL b. 1846 and wife, Catherine STIDHAM b. VA. I am able to locate Caroline and B. Franklin HUNSUCKER as of the 1910 Wise Co., VA Fed. Census not don't easily see them after that. I suspect it is the way HUNSUCKER is being spelled that I am not picking it up. 1910 Gladeville Dist., Wise Co., VA Dwelling 630-643 HUNSUCKER, B. Franklin, 32, head, mar. 12 yrs, mar. 1 time, b. VA; parents b. VA - general farming . Caroline, wife, 37, mar. 1, mar. 12 yrs, 5 born; 4 living, b. VA; parents b. VA . .Arlin, son, 10, b. VA . .Hobart, 8, son, b. VA . .Dellie, dau, 5, b. VA . .Baby, dau, 0 months, b. VA I have no idea when and/or if they moved to Letcher Co., KY or when or where they would have died. This is not a name I am researching.
