I know one moved, or was in southern Ohio in the mid-1800's. My Osborne line moved during the Civil War from Virginia to Kentucky to Ohio. I have almost nothing on the family. I have about 8 siblings to my line and only one possible marriage partner. So, I can't help you there. I will keep you data on file and if I find anything I will keep you posted. I think we are in the same boat.

However, I have a question about one the Osborne families that lived in Eastern Kentucky in the late 1800's and early 1900's. It is possible some of their descendents could still be in the area of Letcher County. I am hoping to find a connection to my Osbornes. I have a Jane Asher, born 1908, Leslie County, date of death not known. She was the daughter of Carlo B. Asher and Mary Saylor. Jane married, (first name unknown), Osborne, from Letcher County. They lived in Whitesburg, Kentucky. I have been told they had children in that general area at one time. I have exhausted my limited knowledge on the many sources available. Have searched census, birth, death, marriages, the Social Security and so forth. I would be most grateful for any pointers, suggestions or information you might be able to share. Maurine

These are descendents of Isaac Fields & Alsie Day.

My Osbornes lived in eastern Kentucky around the Civil War and then moved to Sciota County (Portsmouth area) in Ohio for the 1870 census. Mary Ellen then married Kimber Snyder in 1873 and left the area by about 1878. My Samuel's wife was a Mahala and were probably born in 1829 (but that is a guess). Does any of this info match up with you family? Thanks
