    1. Help with recipes
    2. Phyllis Reynolds Goelz
    3. Hi everyone! I have a huge favor to ask of all of you cousins and friends out there. We are working on a cookbook for our family reunion in Hindman in October. I am in desperate need of more recipes. If you could help me out, and send me a recipe for our cookbook, I'll be eternally grateful. You can send any type, old, new or whatever, along with your name (since so many of you I know by your email name only) and I'll put them in the book. This cookbook will be available for any one who wants to purchase it, not just those who attend the reunion. (Although, I would love to see lots of you there.) If you don't feel like typing them into a message, you can scan and send the scan to me. Send your recipe to: dudpa@runnelsfork.com. I hope you can help me out! Thanks a million. Phyllis

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/FBB.2ACE/1008.1 Message Board Post: Hello, I am not related to this line. If it is some organization like the DAR, you might wish to check with the local DAR Chapter nearest you. Perhaps they can help you if someone else has already submitted documentation on some of this line which would not have to be repeated. Otherwise, I would think you are in for a very difficult, if not impossible, task. Kentucky did not begin to maintain records of births or deaths until 1911. Even then it was far from perfect. Most of the very early records we have, if they are available at all, are from family Bibles, tombstone engravings, and other written or oral family histories or from the census records. Sometimes an early marriage record would give a birthdate or confirm a set of parents. But, there really was no birth record or death except for those very few in each county. One can order microfilm from the State of KY of some VERY FEW birth and death records recorded in registry-style format. You need a microfilm reader to transcribe it. Or, a reader-printer to copy it. It is broken down by groups of counties. This is from the State of KY, Department of Libraries at Frankfort. In some counties, the coordinator or others have transcribed and submitted these early birth records which are posted on the various county sites. I hope someone will be able to give you some help.
