I am related to the Sturgill's on both of my sides. My mother (Angeline Stidham) was related through both of her parents, and my father (Clyde Johnson) was related through both of his parents. In a way, I feel that I am more Sturgill than Johnson! I will keep looking for the ancestry of James Johnson. It took me seven years to find his connection. The Johnson side seems to be quite elusive. Gene Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Sorry not to be any help. I see your last name is Johnson, have you ever thought about getting your DNA tested? Author: vivianmoon Surnames: Higginson, Madden, Dalton Classification: obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.letcher/2048/mb.ashx Message Board Post: February 24, 2007 Middletown Journal, Middletown, Ohio Pansy (Madden) HIGGINSON, age 86, of Middletown, Ohio passed away Feb. 22, 2007 after a lengthy illness. She was born July 30, 1920 in Whitesburg, (Letcher County), Kentucky, to George Lee and Maude (Dalton) Madden. She was a member of Charles Street First Church of God. God looked around the garden and found an empty space. He looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful for He only takes the best. He knew that you were weary, and He knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never be well on earth again. He saw the roads were getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb. So He closed your weary eyelids and whispered peace be thine. She was preceded in death by her beloved children, John Lee, Benny, Donald Tester and Mary Jo (Tester) Lawson.; sisters, Jean Madden and Josie (Madden) Combs and brothers, Silas, Weldon, John "H", Ralph and Ruphus Madden and great-great granddaughter S! amantha Lawson. She is survived by her grandchildren, Michael (Pam) Lawson of Ringwood, Texas, Bill (Christine) Lawson of Austin, Texas, Amber (Eric) Lawson-Salmons of Franklin, Ohio, John (Liz) Tester of Golden, CO, Cheri (Jay) Wallace of Auroa, CO, Shell Tester and Robert Tester of Kentucky; son-in-law, Billy Lawson of Farmersville, Ohio; sister, Mary (Madden) Wootan of Middletown, Ohio and sister-in-law, Dorothy Madden of Middletown, Ohio; 19 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and 6 step-great-great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
