The "Brock's of Southeastern KY" website has a goal of being the number one resource for all of the Brock's in the counties of Harlan, Bell, Clay, Leslie and Knox of KY. Currently the website contains for the county of Harlan, an index to Brock deeds, with images from several books. Which includes the complete images of deed books A, C and D for Brock's. Other indexes include Brock Marriages, Brock Deaths in KY, Brock Land Grants in KY and Brock Civil Suits. There are many images of several of each of these. Our goal is to gather as many, if not all, that we can and post them on the site. We also have the complete transcribed Harlan Co., KY Census for the years 1850 - 1870 with indexes. For Jesse Brock, we have his RW Pension file and a chronology of his life. Also, we are building descendant reports for Jesse and each of his children, which are being built with ! the documentation that we gather. If anyone has any birth certificates, pictures, marriage certificates, etc. pertaining to the Brock's and they would be interested in having them posted on the site, please contact me. This site is being built with the determination to document the line of Jesse Brock and it is a free site for all to enjoy. Jerry Taylor

Floyd Frazier was hanged in Whitesburg during May of 1910. for the murder of Ellen Flanery. Some sources claim Floyd was the son of James H. Frazier, a prominent Whitesburg merchant, but I cannot find anything to confirm or support this. There are some indications it might be true but I would like to know if it is or if it isn't true. If not true then who was the father of Floyd Frazier. His mother, Nancy Adams, was a Frazier before she married Moses Adams in 1893. Was Frazier her maiden name or had she previously been married to a Frazier? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Actually I have it now. My cousin who is the daughter of "Johnny" emailed me today. Found her on another site. Walter is the middle name he went by. His name is John Walter Spears Sr. and Lula Elizabeth Goins. Who I have listed as Elizabeth Gowins on the KY record of Johnny's birth. My cousin and I are just now getting acquainted and exchanging info. If you would like more, please email me at clarknrigsby@hotmail.com. The 1930 members of this family were Walter 42, Lulla 37, Buela 18, Cleo 15, Johnie 14, Jimmie 12, Paralee 11, Willie 8--and then no more. My suspicion would be that the enumerator left off the rest of the children--I have several cases of that. One issue is that Walter and Lulla cannot be found in the 1920 index, suggesting that this might be a second marriage for one or both, or possibly he is using a different first name.
