A transcription of the 1930 Letcher County Census is available through Letcher County Genealogical and Historical Society. It is a two-volume set, 852 pages, including an every-name index. That is every person in every household, not just head of house. It is my understanding the pre-publish price will be $55 plus $10 postage until May 1st, then the price will go up to $65 plus postage. You may order from Letcher County Historical Society, P. O. This Martha Bates is the daughter of James Bates and Elizabeth Adams I believe.
