Descendants of WILLIAM PENNINGTON (1765-1844) and his wife, ABIGAIL CAUDILL (1767-after 1860), are in the midst of raising funds to place a memorial stone on William and Abigail's Webbville, Lawrence County, Kentucky gravesite. Four hundred eighty five dollars ($485.00), about half of the estimated cost of approximately nine hundred thirty-five dollars ($935.00), has been collected to date. The target date has been extended to JUNE 15, 2004, to allow more people to participate. Please, make at least a small contribution to this effort to keep the memory of our common ancestor available to future generations. If you can help, please send your check or cash donation to ELEANOR BREWSTER, 4187 State Highway 1496, Grayson, Kentucky 41143 (Phone: 606-474-9502) before JUNE 15, 2004. I know that this listserv deals primarily with genealogical information but I wanted to post a request since family members might have worked with one of the agencies. New Deal agencies include the Works Projects Administration (WPA), the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), Public Works Administration (PWA), Federal Emergency Relief Agency (FERA) or in Kentucky it was known as (KERA), National Youth Administration (NYA), Civil Works Administration (CWA) and the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). If you know of any sites or buildings in Letcher County, please contact me at my email address. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Cynthia Johnson
