Their names were Jessie and Alice Taylor. I know they met in Letcher county and were probably even married there. THe problem is that i dont' know when they were born but they died around 1920 of something called the black flu? It killed them and 4 of their children. The only ones that survived were my grandma Glessie Taylor born October of 1916 and her brother Cicero. Jessie had a brother named Woodrow. ALice's maiden name was Sexton. A second cousin of mine seems to think they lived or died near Whitesburg. Their other childrens names were Gertie, Sam, Dick, and Charley. Attached is a picture of Jesse, Alice and their first born Gertie, it is one of those picture postcards. Any help anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated. Melissa mellyone@msohio.net

Isom and Judah did have a daughter, Margaret, who fits the age and location, but on closer inspection, Clayton Cox "Applachian Crossroads" later refers to Margaret, dau of Isom and Juda as the mother of Ida Young, and wife of William Young. That does not necessarily rule this out completely, as Margaret may have married more than once ... But after much analysis, I am more inclined to believe your Margaret Caudill was the daughter of Wilburn and Nancy (Caudill) Caudill. And, names William Riley Combs wife as Margaret Caudill, with nothing to link her elsewhere in his work. Since it appears the first child of William Riley Combs and Margaret Caudill, George Combs, is listed as being born 28 mar 1887, I can only assume that Margaret Caudill was b. ca 1860-1870.
