Folks, recently as of 25 June 2002, my computer screen name became compromised and my password was stolen and BULK e-mail was sent out with disgusting sex messages. It was caught by AOL my ISP provider and I have no way of knowing who MAY have received these disgusting multiple e-mails on the 25 of June, through 27th day of June 2002. AOL has now completed its security changes in my accounts and I am now back online. Somehow while on a legitimate Internet Web Site, NOT a part of the Rootsweb Genealogy System, this VIRUS found my Screen Name and Password and sent out this trash over the Internet. > Below are some of the Safeguards we all should follow: > Hyperlinks (blue, underlined words or phrases that link to other email or Internet sites) can be used as handy shortcuts to online areas. > However, beware of hyperlinks in e-mails from STRANGERS! > On Internet Web Sites such hyperlinks exist. > Hackers may have penetrated these sites and a virus attaches to your computer and sends out disgusting emails under your SCREEN NAME. To keep your computer and your e-mail account safe, NEVER click on hyperlinks in e-mail sent to you by STRANGERS. > BE AWARE on INTERNET web sites you visit. You are vulnerable. LISTDAD Now back on line!
