Ada Florence (Brock) Helton Daughter of Mollie Whitehead and Willie Brock This obituary was published in the London, KY newspaper, The Sentinel-Echo: Ada Florence (Brock) Helton, Retired General Motors -- Ada Florence (Brock) Helton, 72, of Sinking Creek Road, London, Kentucky, died Sunday, January 26, 2003, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky. Born March 18, 1930, in Leslie County, Kentucky, she was retired from General Motors and was a believer in the Protestant faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mollie (Whitehead) Brock and Willie Brock; her husband, John Helton; a daughter, Edna Sue (Helton) Elam; four brothers, Alvin T. Brock, Sammy Brock, Lish Brock and Talton Brock; and three sisters, Sarah (Brock) Bowman, Nancy Brock, and Martha Brock. Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Gates and husband Greg of Millington, Michigan, and Cathy Emery of Burton, Michigan; five brothers, John Brock of Swartz Creek, Michigan, Jerry Brock of Marion, Michigan, Willie Brock, Jr., London, Kentucky, Roger A. Brock of Somerset, Kentucky, and Virgil R. Brock of Roark, Kentucky; five sisters, Barbara (Brock) Brown of Shreveport, Louisiana, Edna (Brock) Roark of Roark, Kentucky, Ida Mae (Brock) Caldwell of Chicago, Illinois, Polly Brock and Minnie Lee (Brock) McDonald, both of Burton, Michigan; her companion, Malachi Griffitt of London, Kentucky; and five grandchildren, John C. Helton and wife Kristi, Donald Rady, Jennifer Gates, Amanda Emery and Gregory Gates. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, at the London Funeral Home Chapel with Gene Wilder officiating. Burial will follow in the Napier Family Cemetery at East Bernstadt, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be Virgil R. Brock, Willie Brock, Roger A. Brock, Greg Gates, Raymond Roark and John Helton.
