Hi Cousins: Please join this new list, it is to preserve the coal Camps, not only in Ky but throughout the United States, as you know many of our coal miners migrated to Ky in the early 1900s.They came from many parts of United States, and Europe. Most if not all the coal camps in America have shut their doors and the coal camps have virtually disappeared. This list is to preserver our heritage. If you, your parents, grandparents worked and lived in a coal camp, please document the history of your family, the name of the mines, name of coal camp, name of school, neighbors, teachers, classmates, company doctor, churches. traditions. They may tear the camps down but they can't erase memories embedded in our hearts. On this list we can discuss and document the if's ands and butts of coal camps. Please be nice and no flaming on list. On the _Kentucky Coal Miners _ (http://www.rootsweb.com/~kycoalmi/) site, scroll down and read the guest book entries. I think U will find them heart warming from all walks of life. Please leave a message while U are there. To Subscribe "US-Coal mining-Camps.
