Folks, this is a mystery at present in research. Descents in MO are as stumbled as I am. In my data of HUFF and CAMPBELL lineages, as well as the data of the late Col. Wm G. O'Conner Dozens of Cousins, there is no mention of any WILLIAM HUFF born 1799 in KY. His wife "Matilda Emily Campbell" may be a descent born in Central KY or around Cumberland County, Kentucky. When the US Census was taken in 1859 and 1860 the WILLIAM HUFF born in KY was still alive. In the 1870 Census only wife Emily (Matilda Emily Campbell-Huff) was still alive. The question is: Is there any HUFF or CAMPBELL researchers that may have knowledge of this WILLIAM Huff 1799 birth. In the early Pioneer days of Kentucky there are few, very few persons born with name of WILLIAM HUFF. Yet, back to the 1650s and even today, many HUFF descents were born with the middle name of William.
