    2. Request for BAKER DNA volunteers I am passing a message made back in February 2007, by BAKER descents wanting to encourage more proven descents. This is of great interest to our Leslie County BAKER descents and especially in the LEWIS & CAMPBELL & COUCH lineage's. On lands of Leslie County as it exists today and since 1878, there are BAKER descents from TWO major BAKER lines. One is known as Capt. John Baker who was later beheaded by two slaves while he slept, in his home in those days of Perry County land. The other Capt. John Renty / Renta / Baker a famous longhunter pioneer into KY and TN lands. Both these CAPT. JOHN BAKER were Rev. War Veterans. CAPT. John Baker who died of Perry Co., Ky NC md.
